Blake – @booklanderr

Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about yourself –
Hi! My name is Blake and I’m 17 years old. I just started my senior year of high school, which still feels crazy to me, and I like to think of myself as a man with many passions. I of course love to read, my favorite genre is young adult fantasy. I also have a love for acting which I hope to be able to study at college next year.

The last book you read
Scythe by Neal Shusterman

Describe the book in 5 words
Dark, Thought-provoking, Breathtaking, Humorous, Deep.

What do you look for when choosing your next book to read?
I look for books that are very character driven, I love to be able to to fall in love with the characters, especially through a whole series.

What book series do you think is underrated?
The Jack Blank Adventure Series by Matt Myklusch.

Which character in a book would you most like to be?
Hermione Granger’s son. I don’t think that’s in any of the books but who wouldn’t want to be related to the brightest witch of her time?

Is there a book that you have read multiple times and yet you still know you must read it again?
The Lunar Chronicles. Because that series is what just made me fall in love with reading all over again.

What’s the last book that you did not finish? Why? The last star by Rick Yancey. It just wasn’t very good from the beginning even when I read the infinite sea it was really hard to finish.

Pick an author, living or dead, who you would want to meet. What questions might you ask that person?
I’d love to meet Sarah J. Mass and ask her what her writing process is and what goes through her mind when she’s writing because she just has such a beautiful writing style. And I’d also ask her where in the heck does she get these steamy scenes from?

You can live in any book’s world for a day, but only as an observer. Which book do you choose, and what day?
Probably the Lunar Chronicles, specifically Winter (the last book) during the last war when everything really comes to a masterful close.
