Top Ten Tuesday

Books I’d want on a desert island

To be honest, I have been terrible at this blogging thing lately, however, I am trying to get myself into a schedule where I am using prompts to help me post! I love the Top Ten Tuesday prompt because it’s a lot easier to come up with content (I am a terrible idea comer-upper).

Some of this list are a reread and some are sequels to books that I have already read. Here is a list of ten books that I would want to be on a deserted island with (honestly hoping that I have been rescued by the time I have read through this list):

The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, To Kill A Mockingbird, Dead Until Dark, The Fellowship of The Ring, Our Dark Duet, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, City of Bones, Legendary, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, A Darker Shade of Magic

What’s one book you would take with you on holiday?

  1. Oooh, I did a post on this too, a little while back! I asked everyone I could reach what their “desert island book” was, and got SO MANY varied responses. If I was just going on a regular holiday, I’d just take whatever I was reading in the moment (my reading habits don’t change whether I’m in “real life” or on a getaway)… BUT, if I was going to be stranded on a desert island, with the possibility of no rescue, that changes things 😉 At first I said Ulysses, because I figured my best shot at actually reading and comprehending (and enjoying? maybe?) that white whale was on a desert island with no distractions. BUT then one of my friends suggested Waiting For Godot, which I thought was just effing hilarious, so I want to steal that answer for my own hahaha. I love your picks too – The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy would be great for cheering you up if you started to feel down about your circumstances, and Harry Potter would be really comforting and nostalgic ❤

    1. I will have to have a look and check it out. I never thought to ask people, to be fair I only ever really see the people I work with and I don’t think they are readers. Ulysses was on my long list, I loved it through school. It’s a great story once you read it two or three times and understand what the heck is going on haha. I had to do some googling to find out what Waiting For Gadot was about and I feel like the rescue mission might be Gadot hahaha!! Well I hope it’s only Gadot for a few days and they give me some reading time before they show up (if they show up!)
