WWW Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

It’s that time of the week again! It’s Wednesday – I apologise for being incredibly inactive the past few weeks (again). I was away on annual leave and spent all my time reading and being in Melbourne enjoying so much beautiful food.,

WWW Wednesday is a bookish tag hosted by Taking On A World Of Words so that I can keep my blogging world up to date with what I am currently reading! So there are three questions for this tag:

  1. What are you reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What are you planning on reading next?

Write your answers in the comments below or join in on the tag!

Currently reading:

Sadie – Courtney Summers

I was ever so lucky to be sent a copy of Sadie from Pan Macmillian Publishing Australia. As soon as I saw the announcement of Sadie I was so excited for a YA thriller! So far I have read about 35 pages (so not a lot at all) and I am loving the format of the book. Summers has crossed a podcast script over with the first person perspective of Sadie to create the story of a small town murder. I am obsessed with true crime podcasts so the story of Sadie is right up my alley. Hopefully, I will get through this one quickly as it is already proving to be an intriguing and fast-paced read. This is my first book written by Courtney Summers, but I think I might need to pick up a few more!

Recently finished:

Vicious – V.E Schwab

Image result for Vicious - V.E SchwabVicious was fantastic! It was world building, character developing and story driven fantasy that was an absolute pleasure to read. There is a reason that Schwab has very quickly become my favourite author. The story very easily hooked me in with the characters and their extraordinary human abilities. This was the first time that I read this type of genre / story concept and was enthralled by the whole experience. Victor Vale is the perfect protagonist and I am curious to see what is going to unfold in Vengeful. I felt a strong connection to Sydney so I hope that she plays a big role in the next book, I loved how she came to her own and became such an intriguing and strong character.

Planning to read next:

What If It’s Us? – Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

To be honest I have read nothing by either of these authors. However, I know that so many bookstagrammers and readers that I look up to absolutely love both of their writing. I have packed this in my suitcase to read while I am working interstate over the weekend. These two authors really do pack a punch with all of their highly regarded novels that have received incredible amounts of positive feedback. I am really looking forward to a well written contemporary novel!
