Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about yourself –

Hi lovelies! My name is Tamika or also know as Paperback and flick chick on all my bookish socials. I am nearly 25 years old and come from little out Adelaide Australia. I am a proud Slytherin who resides in the summer court and is a member of the Stark family. I much prefer hot chocolate to coffee or tea and have the biggest sweet tooth. Bring me all the snacks! Reading wise I love everything fantasy and paranormal but am also a sucker for a good romance read. I also much prefer series to stand alones as I fall terribly hard for my favourite characters and just want to spend as much time with them as possible! Please feel free to chat with me about books and or movies and TV shows anytime I love fangirling!!

The last book you read

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas as part of my reread in preparation for the release of Kingdom of Ash.

Describe the book in 5 words

Fantasy. Chaol is an idiot.

What is the last book to have made you cry?

I was about to say I don’t think a book has made me cry in a while. But you can throw that one out the window because The Assassin’s Blade absolutely destroyed me! I read this for the first time as part of my reread of the rest of the Throne of glass series and just no! I knew that something sad happened in this book from reading the other books however I was not expecting to be so affected by it! I was literally sobbing!! It shattered me!

What’s your favorite under-appreciated novel?

Valentine by Jodi McAlister. It is actually a series of which the first two books have been released. It is a book about fairies but set in Australia and Jodi is an Australian Author. So I just think it’s really cool and a great story.

Which book has left the most lasting impression on you?

I think every book I read leaves an impression on me in one way or another. However the most lasting impression probably goes to the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Wait wait! Hear me out! I do understand that this saga is not the most well written piece of fiction. And it also is not one of my current favourites. However, it has left the most lasting impression as these are the books that got me into reading in the first place. Before picking up these books I only ever read when I was forced to for school and that was always such a struggle! I picked up twilight one day at my friends house to read the blurb and see what it was all about. And that was it! I didn’t put it down and have been an avid reader since. Fantasy and paranormal are still my favorite genres too!

If you were given $30 to spend on a book today, what book would you buy?

Oh there are so many that I want to get my hands on! I would either use it to preorder Kingdom of Ash or Buy the second book in the Red rising series! I absolutely bloody loved the first one! However I haven’t been able to buy the next few yet! 😦

What book do you plan to read next?

I plan to continue my reread of the Throne of Glass series (I am about to finish Heir of fire now). But also plan to jump into The Crowns of Croswald by D. E. Night. I was lucky enough to receive a copy in exchange for review so really excited to see what it’s all about!

What’s been your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?

I absolutely love the Harry Potter movies! They are just so amazing and make me heart happy! I also love the book to TV adaption of Outlander. I can not get enough of that show or world so good!!

Do your friends come to you for recommendations?

Many of my family and friends are not big readers so I don’t often get asked for recommendations by them. However some do ask me what I would recommend or what I like to read when they realise how much I like books and reading! As for my online friends I occasionally have some people ask what I like or would recommend. Its really cool when someone says they picked up a book because I was raving about it or reviewed it!!
