WWW Wednesday is a bookish tag hosted by Taking On A World Of Words so that I can keep my blogging world up to date with what I am currently reading! So there are three questions for this tag:

  1. What are you reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What are you planning on reading next?

Currently reading:

I honestly didn’t know about this series until there was so much hype and buzz all over social media about the Netflix original series coming out! I pledged that I wouldn’t watch the movie until I had read the book. So I pushed everything on my August TBR to the side and picked up TATBILB so that I can watch the movie. My sister Emily has already watched the movie as she is not a huge reader and keeps telling me it is wonderful. I know that the book will be an awesome read and I love a good love story. Hopefully it is a love story, right?!

In the past I have pushed romance and YA romance out of my reading comfort zone. Not too sure why I had a huge issue with it but as I slowly let them back into my inner reading circle I am starting to enjoy the “fluffy” reads. My closest bookish friend Mim has also bought the series so looking forward to chatting with her about it daily like we do when we read the same book!

Recently finished:

Mirage – Somaiya Daud

THIS BOOK IS OFFICIALLY MY FAVOURITE READ OF 2018!!! No doubt about it. I loved everything about it and I cannot fault the author on anything, besides leaving me with a feeling of absolute fear for Amani. I can’t wait to see what else Somaiya Daud comes up with for the rest of the story. Everything felt so real and familiar and it was really comforting to read a story that brought those feelings along with it. Such a stunning world and the characters were incredible.

You can read my full review HERE . My review is completely spoiler free. Mirage launched today in Australia and you can grab it from Hachette Australia and hopefully all participating retailers online and instore!

Planning to read next:

Shiver – Maggie Stiefvater

Image result for shiver maggie stiefvaterThe Wolves of Mercy Falls really grabbed my attention mainly because I absolutely loved the covers. So before purchasing Shiver I did some research and found the synopsis to be really intriguing. There’s a little bit of everything in there for me to enjoy and I think I will definitely like this one!

I’ve seen online retailers and reviewers compare it to the Twilight series and saying that it’s in the same genre. Super into that stuff! I was such a huge fan of Twilight, regardless of how people feel about it now. It got me back into reading series and enjoying YA books.

  1. I did the Bad Thing and watched the Netflix movie without having read the book for TATBILB – I was too impatient, and I felt like I was missing out!! I’m glad I did, I really enjoyed it, it came at just the moment I needed a cutesy switch-my-mind-off film ❤️ Hope the book is worth your while in the end, and you enjoy the movie just as much!

And I’m currently reading Kim by Rudyard Kipling (which I’m struggling to finish, TBH, and not sure why). I recently finished The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (which I think I built up too much in my head beforehand). And I’m really torn about what I’ll read next, I think it will depend on my mood when I finish Kim, but I’m thinking either The Happiest Refugee or The One Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared. Choices, choices!
